The 3 Ugly Lies About Calorie
Based Diet Plans
For many people that are
trying to lose weight, it is a simple matter of calories in,
calories out. After all, our body is a machine and a calorie is
the fuel for that machine. If we are not giving our body enough
fuel the form of calories on a daily basis, it is going to find
that fuel elsewhere in our body.
This is how it depletes our
body fat that it is carrying around. Although it seems
interesting in practice, the fact of the matter is that calorie
based diet plans go a lot deeper than that.
There is some research that
shows that a calorie is not always a calorie. It all depends on
what kind of calories you are taking into your body as to how
your body is going to assimilate them.
For example, if you eat 1000
calories that are low on the glycemic index, your body is going
to react much differently than if you eat 1000 calories from
the high end of the index. By flooding your system with insulin
as a result of putting too much sugar into your body, you are
depriving it of the ability to lose weight. As a matter of
fact, this is at the root of a lot of the weight that we are
carrying around.
You also need to be cautious
about where your calories are coming from. A farmer will feed
his hogs cooked vegetables in order to fatten them up. If you
were to feed them the same vegetables in their raw state, the
hogs would lose weight.
There are no more calories in
cooked vegetables than there are in raw vegetables but it is
the type of food that we are eating. Raw vegetables are
cleansing and they help to keep our system running properly. If
you cook them, you are taking out a lot of the things that our
body needs.
Finally, you need to be
cautious about how many calories you're cutting out of your
diet. If you go too far underneath your daily recommended
calorie intake, you are going to put your body into starvation
mode.
Yes, the type of food that you
are eating is going to matter but if you go to radical as far
as your calories are concerned, you're going to stop your body
from losing weight altogether. Eat healthy, balanced diet that
is low in sugar and high in raw foods. If you do this, you may
not have to pay attention to calories at all.
